Is there a trick for the parkway headrest?

I have an old style parkway that still has 2 years left prior to expiration. The headrest doesn't want to stay up. Is there some trick to get it to stay up? That seat works best in my van.

When mine did this, I took it out of the car and put it in the garage for a couple days. When I went to fix it, it had fixed itself. I think that trying to move the headrest while it was hot from being in the car was making the adjuster too soft to catch. When I moved it when the plastic was cool, I had no problems and no problems since then, either.

Happened to mine too. I laid it on it's back in storage and when I checked it a few weeks later I had fixed itself.

It happens that every time I bring the seat in the house, it works again. I decided to call britax to see if they had some trick. They offered me a parkway sgl for $100. The lap belt fit on my 6 yo in the sg is awful, so that's no good. If I can't make the headrest portion stay up, I have a couple other boosters, but the old parkway with it's lack of arm rests fits best!

Take it out of the car so it's not pushing against the vehicle seat and it will stay. Then put it back in and you're good to go. Mine does this too. ;)

Okay, so that's why the problem showed up again. I put the seat in the van for the 6 yo, all adjusted and ready to go. Last night I drove only the older 3 kids. 11 yo opened the door, assumed the seat was hers (looks just like it) and tried to move the headrest up, while ds decided to sit in 11 yo's seat. I pointed out to 11 yo that her seat was in the back now. Oh. When we went to go home, 11 yo decided to sit in her seat and ds wanted to sit in 6 yo's seat. I will just set the seat for 6 yo and tell everyone else to stay out!
