Question Expired?

EXPIRED???
I saw something very similar to the attached picture (only without the funky hip/crotch shaped thing -- presumably MIA) today in a colleague's car. Before saying anything I want to do some fact checking. Transport Canada doesn't even list Century (bought by Graco) on their notice about useful life. Can anyone confirm or deny? What's this seat called and when was it last manufactured (Canada). TIA.

Very expired. I want to say 2003 or so? Not sure in Canada, but they're long gone. It may be earlier than 2003 with those "shields" at the belly. But Century was gone in 2004.

I believe Graco bought Century in 2002. That seat is the NextStep, last made in 2003, and it's not supposed to have those things on the harness. Those are from the Breverra.

DD1 had the NextStep DX and the large rubbery pieces were standard on the seat. The tongues were attached to them so if you removed them, you removed the tongues entirely.

DD outgrew hers by weight (40#) at close to age 6 so it was either end of 2002 or beginning of 2003 that she switched to using it as a booster. And she used it as a booster until she got too tall for it, it still wasn't expired. I think that was until '04 so it might have expired in '05? Pretty sure I bought it in '99.

I loved that seat except for the booster guides. They sucked. And either the top or the bottom (can't remember which) always popped out of the piece of material it hooked through.

I had that exact seat DOM 2001 with DD1. I chose the version without the funky crotch clips. Bought it at TRU in Oct 2001 days after I wrecked my truck with her in a Dorel Eddie Bauer OHS seat...
