Middle airbags and child seats

Reading today's paper...

I wonder how is a middle air-bag (that pops up between the front seats) going to affect child seats? This air bag is new on the Acadia, Enclave, and Traverse next year.
I'm just looking between my own front seats in the van, and the RF carseat sort of is right there between them, to some extent.
So add an airbag, and ?????

The picture of how this works is too dark to see well, in the paper.

We don't know yet.

And yes, it stays front and center. Keep in mind how much movement there is in a crash. If the airbag stays put, the carseat in the middle back seat will impact it.

My guess (this is all this is), is that there will be restrictions so the airbag can deploy without issue (like the advanced airbag restrictions), but if it's out its not a big deal to hit. Carseats hit side curtain airbags all the time.

I imagine it also doesn't deploy with the same force as a frontal airbag.

:yeahthat:
Sounds like a side curtain type airbag so (without reading about it and knowing we won't be getting a new vehicle for quite a while) I would think it wouldn't be an issue.
