Scenera chest clip slipping apart?

My son peed all over his radian, and that cover is in line for the laundry, so I popped our spare scenera in the car today. When I was buckling him in, I noticed there was no click or anything when I buckled the chest clip, so I tried just pulling it apart without pressing the button, and it pulls right apart.

This is not ok to use like this, is it?
Preschool is literally less than 1 block away, so we just walked it there and I always walk to pick them up, so that wasn't an issue. But tomorrow morning we have to drive to DD's speech therapy.

I can probably (assuming he fits, but I'm pretty sure he will as he's 9th percentile for height at 13 months) pop the baby into our onboard 35, and put DS in the baby's myride, but that is a lot of seat shuffling, and I'd need to move the straps on the myride.

I'd rather everyone tell me that it's not safe at all, and I should immediately head to Target to pick up a new seat!!!

Personally, since he's RF, I would use it and call Dorel as soon as possible to see what they say. If it stays closed when he's in the seat it will keep the straps positioned. Just make sure that the straps are properly tightened.
