Cosco Scenera in Opal Corsa (European rental car)

Hi, I hope maybe some of you have some experience in this area. We're heading to Ireland later this week, and are picking up a rental car (Opal Corsa) at the airport. We're bringing along a Cosco Scenera seat we bought in the US. I'm nervous about installing it - what if it doesn't fit? How will I know if it's in properly? (When we did it here we got it checked by a technician before we used it). Is there any way to check compatibilty beforehand? I know there's a database for N. American cars, but when I looked for a European equivalent I couldn't find anything.

I don't know of a database in Europe similar to (Carseat Data website closed - link broken). The sites that I know of, w/regard to the CR laws can be found with the Irish Road Safety Authority - Republic of Ireland. Or with Child Car Seats for Northern Ireland/UK. There are links to other countries, too, but not (the Republic of) Ireland.

We travelled w/an EvenFlo Triumph RF over Christmas, and were able to secure it w/the safety belt with no problems. The car had the ISOFIX, but I didn't even try it. We rented something that was like the Opel Meriva and made sure it had 4 doors. Cars tend to be a lot smaller there, and if you can get something w/4 doors--I would.

Have a fun trip! Hope the time difference isn't too great! My husband's family lives there, so we travel more regularly there than any where else. The time difference gets us--our kids, really--every time.
