I remember seeing a post before but cannot find it now. It was about crotch strap positioning.

Something like:

Ok: / or l

Not ok: \

Is this correct?

It depends on the seat. Some seats want you to have the strap coming for at or under the child. Some want the strap not under the child. Some say pick whichever one you want.

What seat(s) do you have?

ETA: Your siggy seats: If the CA follows the same rules as the Scenera and Avenue, then you pick whatever slot you want. I have no idea what the Maestro's rule is. And the Radian is at or under the child, not in front.

Doesn't the Radian manual say to have it in the outer most position for children that are above 30 lbs? Just making sure.

On the CA, you can't use the outermost position for rear-facing, because it lies right on the rear-facing belt path.

In my CPST class, we were taught that it should not be under the child, but that runs opposite to several car seat instructions. So I always say refer to your manual.

It does in the US manual, which is why I have it in the outer position for my 31 pound DD. OP is from Canada, and the Canadian manual doesn't have that rule.

That's right, Dorel says pick whichever slot but not the outermost for RFing. I forgot that part.

Crotch strap position is not a normal part of the CPST curriculum, beyond Read The Manual.
