Ahhh! My Boulevard straps won't lower!

I am trying to lower the straps on my daughter's Britax Boulevard. They can go all the way up but when I try to lower them they only lower a couple of inches and then the knob gets tight. If I crank it hard it would budge but I'm afraid it will probably just break and not actually lower the straps further. Has anyone else had this issue? The car seat has 3 or 4 years before it expires.

I had this same problem with one of the demo seats at my tech class and we did accidentally break it. I would call Britax.

Try twisting the knobs in opposite directions. Sometimes one can come off or loose. Or look in the back at the rods that spin and see if something is misaligned. I was able to fix mine after Britax said I'd have to pay to have it fixed.

Yeah, uninstall it and look at it. Sometimes the splitter plate gets hung up on something, sometimes the threads on that steel screw get off with the turning knobs. I've been able to get mine to work again by fiddling with it.

Try peeling back the cover and make sure the two plastics plates are not hung up on one another. Mine was caught once when it was all the way up and then I needed to lower it for my younger dd. It actually bent one piece slightly. One piece needs to slide behind the other.

That's what happened with mine--the plastic plate was getting caught on a ridge in the shell. Just pull it out and you're good to go.

That is EXACTLY what the problem was! Thank you! Funny, I emailed Britax and they said they couldn't offer any advice without seeing a photo of it fully put together, front and back. I had sent them photos with the cover partially removed where they could see the problem area.

Thank you for helping me solve this problem!
