GoGo Kidz Travelmate or luggage cart?

I'm flying in July and need to find something to get DD's MA to the gate. Dh isn't flying with me, so I'm trying to make it simple. I've looked into getting the GoGo Kidz Travelmate. It's pretty $$, but someone is willing to sell me theirs for $60. Is that worth it? Or should I just get a luggage cart and strap the MA on that? Also, how easy is the Travelmate to use and do you have to take it off the carseat during use on the plane? I just had a hysterectomy so I can't carry much weight, so DD is going to need to ride in the MA. Thanks!

I've never used the Travelmate. I used ordinary luggage carts by Sampsonite. I thought the savings was worth it. However, do be aware that some carts work better than others with car seats. You'll definitely want to try your seat on it before you get to the airport, if you go with a cart! The first time I flew with seats, I had a cart that didn't fit well with my seats, and every time we turned a corner going too fast or bumped into anything (including rough floor), the seat would slide off. It was simple to fix, but after the first two times, it was a real PITB.

I have done both. If you find a luggage cart that will work, then great. You definitely want to try them out, though. Not sure how heavy your DD is, but that may be an issue with her riding. As for the GoGo--we love ours! We fly fairly frequently, though, so it was worth the cost for me. I don't remove it while on the plane, but it is somewhat of a PITB to get strapped in tightly that way, but that's because we're FF---if you are RF, it will be cake. One other caveat--despite what they say, I have only been on ONE plane that had an aisle wide enough to wheel the thing all the way to the seat, so you will have to carry the car seat down the aisle, and dd will have to walk or be carried. You may want to see if someone can help you with the MA on the plane. Just allow yourself plenty of time, and good luck!

The Gogo Kidz Travelmate works well with all of the car seats it says it will fit. However, we have found it works extra well with the Britax Convertible seats as these are the seats for which it was originally designed.

Thanks for the advice!! I think I'll got ahead and get the Travelmate from the lady offering it for $60. I'd rather do that and know it'll fit the MA than mess with a finding the right luggage cart. DD is heavy at 15 months-27lbs, so I want something that'll be sturdy!
