I'm thinking the kids in the middle were pretty well protected by compartmentalization... Tough luck for the kids on the outside though! ;)

Wow! I remember about 20+ years ago our girl scout leaders folding down the backseat of her station wagon and 15 of us just sitting in the back. We thought it was great. I shudder now though!

I'm shocked the police did anything. In a week in China the only carseat I saw was Piper's, and the city buses routinely looked like that van (Piper would sit on random strangers' laps, which was normal for there).

Oh.My.Word...... i wonder what they were all doing in there. A school trip? daycare?

And sadly although i having 66 kids in a minivan is appalling i am sure the 12 police vans that came to pick them up didn't have proper car seats for them either. :(

:yeahthat: I wonder what they arrested him for as I thought there weren't any car seat laws in China yet. Last night DH was watching some show on Discovery about immigration and they showed an suv that had 17 adults crammed into and I couldn't fathom how they managed that either.

Dang. I was hoping it was a 66 passenger.

Well I wan't hoping, but I thought that's what it meant.

I'm shocked the police did anything.

That was my first thought.

What about the parents? They should be held accountable as well, maybe even more so for allowing it, and there is no doubt in my mind that the parents were full aware.

One guys way to make a lot of money transporting lots of kids while the parents are getting cheap transport. But that's just my opinion of course
