Since the 5 point harness is always preferred (providing weight and height is appropriate) why are there only 3 or 4 choices of 5 point harnesses for children with weights over 40 pounds? (Britax, primarily)

Good question. We've been waiting for more product offerings since the Fisher Price Futura was discontinued a few years ago.
I have no idea why Dorel (Cosco), Graco, Evenflo or others have not entered this market. Some of their combination models are rated to 47/48 pounds with a tether in Canada, so perhaps it has to do with difficult or costly USA regulations.
