Question Is there a way to purchase only the canopy stay for a Britax Chaperone?

I recently acquired a Chaperone from a friend who failed to mention that the seat does not have the canopy stay. I wondered if this was a piece that could be bought and put on the seat safely and if it HAS to be a Chaperone canopy stay. I noticed that our Chicco seat has a canopy stay that looks very similar and I also wondered if an older Britax companion canopy stay would work. If anyone has any ideas or can help we would greatly appreciate it.

not yet I've heard that their shipping is ridiculous and we're on such a tight budget I hated to spend a ton

They've always sent replacements parts at no charge. Just call to get a quote and see what they say.
