Question 3 acrossed in an Acadia

We are looking at purchasing an Acadia 2010 or 2011. I am wondering if 3 acrossed in the 2nd row will work and also if 2 seats will fit in the 60% of the 2nd seat. Also there are only 2 teethers in the 2nd row and 1 in the 3rd row. Can you add a teether? Also do all FF seats need to be teethered?

1. 4yr 35 pounds 40 inches in a Britax Boulevard FF
2. 18 month old 28 pounds 32 inches tall in Britax Advocate RR
3. Due 12-2011: currently have a Britax infant seat but expires in 3-2012

You can't add a tether if it came with some from the factory. Not unless you can find a mechanic who is willing to modify the car, and you buy the EZ-On universal tether. A custom body shop (one that does handicap modifications, for instance) would be your best bet.

All forward facing seats should be tethered, and it's what the T in LATCH stands for.

But with three kids, and two of them rear facing for another couple of years, then the oldest in a booster, the most I can see you using right now is one tether at a time. So you should be good.

I have no experience with an Acadia, so I'll let someone else chime in. You do have some of the widest seats, though. Which would you rather, keep your seats and not do a three across, or buy new seats for a three across? I don't know if your three will work across a row, but I think it unlikely.

I drove an Acadia for a month (it was a rental). 3 across the last row would be extremely tight. You may be able to do it with 2 Radians and a Ride Safer Travel Vest, but even with those, I'm not sure. In the Acadia I drove, there were not 3 seats in the middle row - just 2 captain's chairs.

I will need to purchase a new infant seat due to expiration date of 3-2012. I would like to keep the other to carseats if possible. I have no idea which infant seat to purchase. I have been happy with the britax companion. How do I firgure out which infant seat will fit with my current 2 seats. Also which infant seat would work with the britax advocate in the 2nd row if I needed to do a 60/40 split with the 40% up get to the 3rd row.
Any advise would be great!
