This week was my states Lifesavers conference and for a CE they had a manufacturer update from Evenflo. They had an engineer come and speak, he probably brought 10 seats with him including a new combination seat to rival the Nautilus (but with a cheaper price point). After class we got to play with the seats on a trainer then they gave away 8 of the seats! (Not the new one since it is not on the market yet). Much better CE's than last year!!!

No pics :( But he said that it has the same harness height as the Maestro but will have a weight limit of 65lbs (it is built on the same shell as the Maestro). It also has an adjustable headrest and 2 cupholders. There will also be a 40lb Maestro version coming out soon to replace the Chase.

For the Nautilus clone, I believe he said that it would be out later this year. No date on the 40lb Maestro. He did not say a price but I mentioned that the seat really reminded me of the Nautilus and he said that is exactly what they were going for but a much cheaper price point?

OMG, I hope they hurry up with this Nauti clone! DS's shoulders are just about even the top slots of his MA and is almost too heavy for a Maestro...AND his seat expires next month!

Did it have a continuos harness? Do you have to rethread the harness to adjust height? How about harness covers?

I need something narrower than the fr85 but without the heads ump of the gn. This sounds pretty good so far.

It did have to be rethreaded to move the harness slots up. Not sure about harness covers. They did not have any on the seat but the cover was a very odd patchwork of colors and they assured us that this was not a cover option :)

I wonder if it was the same guy that was at KIM. He said this seat would be $120-$150 range.

Well then that isn't a better price than the GN...

And a 40lb Maestro??? What is happening to the 50lb version??? 40FF seats are so stupid nowadays IMO

NannyMom do you remember his name? For the life of me I can't but I might remember if I heard it. I was really curious of the price but he would not give me a $ amount :(

Well, if Evelfo is looking at $150-180 as the Nautilus regular price (i know...WE know it's lower). And what he told me was "to be in line with the nautilus"

I never found out his name. He was talking to someone else in the hallway, and I jumped in on the conversation. He was a fairly skinny guy with short blonde hair though
