I told my husband no way, but he refuses to believe me.. and it is really making me furious lol.

Fiona wants to be this for halloween but the wings do not detatch, and we do not trick or treat in our neighborhood, we drive to a different one and then trick or treat, then drive home. which one of us is right, he said we should just use the vivo for her but still that is not going to be safe, or at all comfy. (MY concern is the wings that do not detatch)

I don't see why not...you would have to push up the skirt to get her seat buckle...i don't see how its any different than a frilly dress

There are other costumes but this is "the one" she is super picky, and she loves this one.
I think I will buy and try in the vivo, and if worse comes to worse maybe I could detatch them and put some kind of elastic straps on them so she can put them on when we get out of the car... she doesn't want to have to take it off and put it on lol.. she was all upset about it.

I'd be more worried about the wings bending out of shape and her being upset than I would be about super thin wings behind her. Even in the Vivo they'd probably bump up against the edge and bend.

we can bend them back into shape I think, I was playing with it in the store, the wire is not super bendy but I think I could fix it if there was a problem.. I think I want to give it a shot.

Levi rides in the carseat in his underpants and I put his costume on when we get there. There is no way his costumes would fit in the carseat.

I would dress her in a long-sleeved black leotard and black tights, and her shoes, and paint her face or do whatever else you're going to do, and have her slide the main part of the costume on when you get to your destination.

How well it will fit in her car seat with the wings probably depends on how flexible they are. If it doesn't interfere with the straps or make her uncomfortable, you're fine. If it does, then you can work around it and not have her wear it in the car.

:yeahthatlove: Jocelynn was supposed to be a witch last year and this was our plan (she ended up getting sick so we never did go anywhere)

We always do the undergarments and dress when we get to our destination. That has always worked for us. Most costumes go on pretty easy.

Also, after reading the reviews for that costume, it looks like it's really scratchy. Your daughter would probably really appreciate having a full leotard underneath it.

My personal rule is always if I can get them buckled in without adjusting straps at all (since straps were previously adjusted correctly) they can wear it...if not, they're not wearing it. This has convinced my boys on more than one occassion that something they just "have" to wear is not possible -- once I start buckling the straps and they realize how tight and uncomfortable its going to be, they are usually more than happy to take it off and put it on when we get there.

she changed her mind, we are taking one of those leotards, and tutus from CP, and the seperate wand and crown, and then I ordered wings seperatly from amazon... she is going to be a generic random fairy princess lol.. the wings, come off.
