I wouldn't. I'd put a sticker on the side of the seat.

Or what about a duct tape bracelet? You know like teenagers wear. You could loop it through the harness. Not sure if I'm describing what I'm thinking well enough lol

I use one for DD but I wouldn't "recommend" that others use them. *I* feel that it is okay because it doesn't interfere with the chest clip. For us, it is extremely important for first responders to see that she has a medical issue especially since it is OI. We use one because you cannot undo the harness without seeing that strap. Because she has OI even a minor accident means that she needs to transported in her seat or we could be facing paralysis. I think that for certain special needs, you have to weigh the pros and cons and make your decision based on your individual situation.
