What kind of diapers are you using? Have you thought about switching cause it sounds like the diapers are the problem. Or even adding a good cover over the top of your diapers.

I am using mostly Bumgenius one size stuffed with hemp inserts (2 or 3 at a time) and some bumgenius AIO's in large.

We are potty training now, and i've been using the piddle pads for a couple weeks now. I really like them. They are thin and flexible and they do not interfere with the harness or the adjustment. I put the piddlepad in, then my son, then tightened the harness. Then, I left the harness adjustment where it was, unhooked it, took him out, removed the piddlepad and put my son back in the seat and fastened the harness. The harness was still snug on him. So, that was my test.

If you are having flooding you may want to try a microfiber towel on top of the hemp insert. It helps absord the quick pee until the hemp can get it all absorbed. You can get them in the auto dept at walmart for super cheap.

I agree with everyone and wanted to add...

Imse Vimse wool diaper covers are awesome!

I only had two. I simply let them dry between uses and only washed them with wool wash (important for the lanolin) occasionally.

Yep, definately an issue of the wrong diaper for the child. Some diapers work better for some children than others, whether you're using 'posies or cloth.

So, do folks here consider the piddle pad safe?? We have been day-potty trained for over a year, but still working on night training. We are going on a long car trip over the 4th would like to use a piddle pad under DD just-in-case she falls asleep for an extended period and wets the seat. DD does not have accidents during routine naps (1-2 hours) but if she sleeps for longer, the chances go up. She tends to sleep on long drives. Havign a urine-soaked car seat would make the rest of the trip less-than-pleasant for her (and the rest of us).

Any ideas safer than the piddle pad?
