Infant Car Seat fits at 1995-1999 Mitsubishi Esclipse?

Hi, I am searching for an infant car seat, I live on an island and having to purchase over the internet, I want to know which car seats (in particular the infant car seat for now), will fit 1994-1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse. This car has bucket seats and the deepest part and back of the seat is 12 inches wide and distance from back of the seat to the front seat is approximately 16 inches. I realize that the baby seat itself is also on an angle, but I assume I can adjust the front seat for that. Any suggestions on different car seats that fit? So far I have researched the Maxi Cosi Mico. Thank you for your help.

It's been a long time since I've played with seats in the year range of that car. So I am not sure which seats that are on the market now will fit. I can tell you 4 years ago I couldn't get any infant seat in with the base on in 1998 Eclipse. I did however get a few convertible seats in it.

Would you be willing to do a convertible that would fit a newborn? Anything on a base (one that doesn't fit flat on the seat) that would be recommended for a newborn (this limits it) will fit. However your front passenger seat will be useless. The one that would fit and hold a newborn for sure would be the Graco MyRide.

Thank you for your response! The Graco myride looks massive. So you think that the bottom of that seat will fit in the Eclipse? We measured the back of the bucket and it measures at 12 inches. I have had several people today tell me they think the Graco Snugride base will fit. Have you seen that? If not, it's okay. Thank you again for your help!

Is there a BRU near you? They will let you try out car seats too. Most infant seats acutually take up more front to back room then convertibles, even though they look smaller. The Britax seats fit great in small places, so do the Combi Cocorro. I have a Britax in my ford focus and can still use the front seat, the snugride makes my knees eat the dashboard.

The snugride base will not fit.

I always forget about the coccoro it might fit, I am worried about how wide the bottom is.

But yet the myride will fit, but your front seat will need to be all the way forward and upright for an infant recline. Britax is out of the question if you want to use it from birth.

You would need to get a new generation Britax and buy the infant insert.
Maybe the maxi cosi pria, its new, I only know it fits noobies well.
