Prius question

I'm interested in the Prius. Is it really that hard to get 3 across in there? I saw that there was 51+ inches of hip room, which is a bit more than I have in my Tribute.

It's essentially a compact car. It's among the larger compacts, but certainly not like a midsize in terms of space. You can get 3-across if you choose carefully. Main problem is the short buckle stalks. If one of those 3 is a booster, it will be tough to buckle.

It also has overlapping buckles, which can make things difficult, too. At least our '08 did. I think they changed the body style slightly in '10?

There is an overlap from center to passenger side. Depending on the carseat and beltpath you have, you may be able to work around it with a seatbelt install in the middle and a LATCH install on the passenger side.

Is the seat belt set up similar to the Rav4 then? I have 2 booster riders. It's not often that I do have all 3 kids though. It tends to be the 2 boosters or the 1 car seat.
