2007 Honda Odyssey:
FF 3rd row outboard - lap/shoulder belt (w/3 buckle stalk twists, lots of pushing, grippy shelf liner) - this install was checked/okayed and then re-installed by a CPS tech.

FF 3rd row center - LATCH - no problem

FF 2nd row captain's chair - LATCH - no problem

FF 2nd row captain's chair - lap/shoulder belt (w/1.5-2 buckle stalk twists; reclined seatback to install and then brought forward)

RF 3rd row center - LATCH - no problem
RF 2nd row captain's chair - LATCH - no problem

Installs were not checked by a tech (except for 3rd row outboard).

Hey, would any of you who have installed it only one direction, try turning it and let us know if it installs? Of course, if you're not a tech and had a really hard time getting it in the first time, don't mess up a good install, but for those who enjoy the challenge, let's see where all these lovely carseats will fit!

By the way, after my baby puked all over my (I mean his) carseat, and I was cleaning it head to toe, I noticed a small crack. I contacted the company about it, and after emailing pics of the crack, they are sending me a new seat. Even though the crack wouldn't affect performance. (It's in a spot on the base that wouldn't be a concern, but I had called to double check.) INCREDIBLE customer service!!!!! Go Sunshine Kids. (I think the crack occured somewhere between leaving the warehouse and being installed, and the company said they have "never" seen that. Guess it was just a strange fluke. I tend to be on the recieving end of a lot of those.)

RF OB 2nd row. Tethered under driver's seat.
Solid install, although had to move drivers seat forward to allow for RF 45 angle.

First day using my Radian and I love it! The installation sure beats the Blvd I struggled with for a day before returning and the Radian is much more low key, but super sturdy.

I've been meaning to come post here....

Vehicle info:
'03 Chevy Astro
8 seater-- 2 bench rows in back
1st row, LATCH & tether anchor for both outboard seats, lap-only belt in ctr.
2nd row, tether anchor only on passenger side o/b seat, lap-only belt in ctr.

FF: both outboard seats w/ LATCH & tether install rock-solid! :D
Center seats are a little trickier-- must get the lap-belt at *just* the right angle to engage locking latchplate correctly PLUS lay flush against the beltpath. Takes a bit of muscle and patience.
O/B installs w/ lap-shoulder belt are also difficult but can get an acceptable install with some effort. My rear seatbelts don't seem to have the auto-retract function as the front seat's belts do, so I'd actually feel safer using a locking clip if I needed to use these belts.

RF: Older model seat doesn't install well RF in any position, but the newer one does.  Looks good O/B w/ LATCH & tether, and in the center with the lap-only belt. Didn't try real hard with the O/B lap-shoulder belts though.

Edit: Aug 07 I got a great, solid install RF, outboard w/ vehicle lap-shoulder belt, when playing around with seats the other day.

For the rear bench, I've only installed successfully in the center seat w/ lap-only belt. I've currently got both Radians installed in both center seats, tethered to either side since there is no tether for either center seat. I hope to have them checked by a tech soon. They're not 100% rock-solid, but < 1 in. of movement with me pushing and pulling *really* hard on it....

OH! I also installed the Radian successfully in:

'06 or '07 Dodge Durango, rental vehicle, 1st row O/B w/ LATCH & tether, possibly somewhere in the 2nd row as well... :scratcheshead:

'07 Expedition, rental, 1st row O/B w/ LATCH & tether, also possibly in the 2nd row.... sorry for the poor memory!

This is okay with Radians as long as the buckle isn't teetering over the edge. On both FF and RF, you can feed the entire buckle into the belt path. And both belt paths are roomy enough that it is easy to buckle and unbuckle.

Okay, I just got it FF in my 97 Suburban 3rd row center. With a LOT of work. Would be easier with DH's help. It currently moves less than 1/2" with force at the base. But, by myself, I couldn't twist the buckle end and get it buckled and tightened. We'll try with DH's help later, and attempt 2nd row center. It looks like it's a maybe. I'll update later.

Okay, for those of you who don't know about the height limit of 51" or top of ears above top of seat for FF (which allows top harness slots to be BELOW child's shoulders) or who want to know why this is allowed, or have questions about spinal compression with such an act, please go to this thread:

http://www.car-seat.org/showthread.php?t=19051

Stephanie

SimplySomething asked us to keep this thread to ONLY comments about the seat fitting well in cars. She specifically asked that.

I'm so glad that you are excited about the height limit, but this is not the thread in which to post it (especially since you already posted the same thing in multiple other threads), since SimplySomething made it clear that she wanted this thread to focus ONLY on successful installations.

Sorry, SimplySomething, for derailing this thread.

I'm not quite sure how small your hands are but i'm a pretty small person and think long fingers, it's not possible to unbuckle the radain with a seat belt install in a dodge intrepid with out using a pencile or something to release the buckle. that belt path for rfing is NOT ROOMY AT ALL~!!!

I wanted to add at least two more.

Prelatch (not sure what year, it wasn't mine) T&C/Grand Caravan, l/s belt, passenger side bench seat, FFing

Chrysler 300, middle LATCH installation (three sets of LATCH, AABBCC, sweet!), nice and solid and fast. That was with the new seat, the first time installing it in a rental With the long harness now and the safestop I have to make sure that it doesn't get pinched in the base as I unfold it, otherwise I can't loosen or tighten it. But that was a nice and easy installation.

As we got to the car and I saw the center LATCH I was looking in the manual to see what the order was and Nathan said, "That's one of your favorite parts of a trip, isn't it? Installing the carseat in a new car." LOL The Chrysler also fit a backless TB on each side.

FF Drivers side captians chair LATCH, rock solid.

FF Drivers side captians chair Lap/Shoulder belt and tether, took more work. Had to recline seatback and then pull up. Tight install, but not as secure as with LATCH.

FF Third row driverside outboard. Lap/Shoulder belt and tether. Had recline the seatback and twist the buckle stalk 1 1/2 times. Had trouble with side to side movement at base. Eventually got an acceptable install.

2001 Dodge Grand Caravan

FF Drivers side captians chair. LATCH. Rock solid.
