Is this safe?

DD is currently FF in both cars. She has a Nautilus in our Subaru Forester, and an 80SL in my Saturn SL1. The problem is that she keeps putting her feet up on the seat in front of her, straight out. I'm worried that she is going to be injured if we were to get into an accident.

She also crosses them or frogs them out to the sides, just as she would RF. I might just turn her back around in the Saturn, since that's the vehicle where she is more likely to prop them.

I wouldn't worry about it from her safety standpoint. However, if you have a car with advanced airbags, though, it could be a problem for the front-seat occupants. Check the airbag section of your manual to see if it prohibits having things push against the front seat(s).

If your daughter still fits rear-facing, that's likely the best solution for everyone.

Feet are more likely to be broken forward-facing than rear-, no matter what a child does with them. Definitely check your manual for warnings pertaining to the front seat occupants, like Jennie says- they will generally be in the airbag section if such a warning exists. It might say not to hang heavy things on the back of the seats, or not to allow rear-seat passengers to kick or lean on the seats, etc.
