Info on Having FF seat extremely reclined

You can move this if this is the wrong spot.

My friend moved her 1 year old FF (she already knows about ERF but doesn't seem to care :(), she has her AOE FF reclined as if it was rf. Like seriously laying back. Are there any links to send her on this being unsafe? Or any other suggestions on what to tell her? Thanks so much!

ETA: She has her van seat reclined really far back, and the seat installed on it.

RF'ing after 1 isn't really ERF'ing anymore. The new bare minimum is 2. You could start by telling her that.

You could also tell her to read her manual since proper angle/recline will be addressed in there. And it should say x amount of recline is for RF'ing only. If you live in a proper usage state, she's not properly using her CR, which is...technically breaking the law.

I don't have any info to link to, but my understanding has always been that a FF install should be as upright as possible. Or, at least, only reclined as much as the/if the vehicle and CR manufacturer allow it.

There are a couple seats that allow recline to be used FF, at least in some circumstances.

I *think* some Dorel seats (very possibly the AOE) allow it. However, that might only be in cases where reclining it allows it to sit flush with the vehicle seat.

So...I'm not sure. Hopefully someone else will confirm one way or the other.
