Yes, and yes! It isn't thick at all. Only car seat issue is bunchiness (I'm going to pretend that is an actual word) if you get it big for growing room.

Thanks!! I'm going to order one while it's still free shipping. Another question, how warm is it? Warm enough for outside play if I put a Yeti under it? We don't play outside if it's colder than -10 or so (we're wimpy Canucks:eek:)

Hmmm. That might be OK. We primarily used it as a car jacket and on its own in the spring and fall so I'm not sure. I seem to recall having this conversation with a salesperson while I was trying to decide whether or not to buy it! I don't see it as a substitute for a snowsuit type jacket on a regular basis.
