Here is the pic of the screen on the base.

First, latch or seat belt in, then level, then tighten. Pretty cool!

It's a norethread harness, right? Does it function similar to Evenflo's?

Yes and no. When you push the button to release the harness, it pops up. When you tighten, it pulls it back down.

Where is this seat at? Is it at baby depot it wasn't 3 days ago.

Cool harness, not sure about that base though. It looked like it was hard to ratchet at the end and then it when you moved the shoulder belt it wasn't tight anymore?

It's available for pre-order at b'rus w/ a ship date of October something.

So how is this ratchet any different than a Mighty-Tite (on the belt, I mean. I know it is different in that it is built into the base).

In my opinion it's not different at all. Go to CarseatBlog and search for Summer Infant. I did a mini-review and video from Lifesavers and you'll see how I wasn't impressed.

I've seen that.

I don't like the ratchet either. Can this seat be used without the base?

I dont think I like the automatic harness. It looks like it would rip a babies ear off or something.

Thanks! 6 to 7 inches of extra belt were ratcheted in? YIKES! That's A LOT.

Are you allowed to use it without the ratchet? That thing scares me a bit. Anyone who isn't strong enough to get a tight install with a seatbelt isn't likely to be strong enough to tighten that thing :twocents:. If a seat is in that tight (beyond knee-in-seat tight), does that put unnecessary strain on the seatbelt?

I do think the harness is cool :thumbsup:.

ETA: Finished reading the blog. I didn't realize the 6-7" referenced above was BEYOND tight. I was assuming that was beyond the slack initial install. Wow, that's a lot. And a lot of extra if the ratchet gives way.
