There is a ProSport and a ProBooster in my cart...

And I have no idea what to keep. DS will be 6 in October. He has no torso and hit 40lb at about 4.5yo. He's now 43lb.

He sits ok in a booster, but cant always remember to stay put, especially if asleep-he gets floppy. But he can't buckle or unbuckled himself (in a booster), which he'll need to do for school drop off. He can get in and out of his Radian in seconds....DH will grunt and make faces at me if I get another harnessed seat, but understands my nuttiness in the long run, mainly because his friend (a man) is equally intrigued by car seat safety and insists on keeping his kids in Recaro.

Of he only does "ok" in a booster he needs to be harnessed.

How much room does he have in the RN? Can he just stay in that?

How much room does he have left in the RN? If he's got a bit, you could go with the PB and work on training, so by the time he DOES outgrow the RN, he'll be responsible in the PB. Have you tried the PB in your vehicle to make sure it's compatible (not tippy)?

If he doesn't have grow room left in the RN, then go with the PS. It converts, so you'll still have a HBB at some point.

I sold the Radian, it was never a favorite of mine. Just likable. He's even with the 3rd slots, has been for about a year. He's on the top slots because sometimes it looks like he's over them, and I often adjust the recline. Torso is 14" and has been forever.

I love both of these seats. If he cannot sit correctly in the booster, I'd go with the ProSport.

We have the harnessed one and I love the giant sides.
I love the seat overall! I don't want him to outgrow it! :)

Son is 5 and tallish. 15.5 torso. I imagine it'll fit to age 7 with harness.
Then I'll get the Frontier or whatever is highest. (yes, for an extra 2 inches of harness). So, yeah, I admit I like harnesses.
Husband understands this, lol.

We have the ProSport and it fits DD really well as a booster to and she is only 4! She is harnessed like 99% of the time though.

I get to buy both!!!

We were in a minor accident yesterday and our insurance is replacing the seats in the van. So I'll be getting a new CCO, the ProBooster to replace our Monarch (which is normally in DH's car), and a ProSport for the van.

Personally, I wouldn't have asked for new seats, I was backing out of a parking space and was hit by someone moving no more than 5mph. But my insurance says they are required by CA law to replace them.
