3 across, bucket in the center?

I'm still trying to figure out our 3 across  I was able to get T35, FR85, rf Blvd70 in once with the t35 base working properly. But the t35 takes up a decent amount of front to back space, so I wanted to try a kf30. Picked up the kf the other day, it doesn't work at all outboard, and the t35 base is giving me problems again outboard. I tried switching the blvd70 to the center, but then the bases want to slide over thinking they have more room

Okay, the kf30 works perfectly in the center, fr85 and rf blvd70 on either side. It didn't seem to be a problem getting the kf over the fr85, of course it was empty. The t35 will no way fit in the center, it's too wide.

So... I guess my question is.. Anyone use a bucket in the center? How much of a pita is it to get baby in/out while lifting it over another seat? Would you just try to get the T35 to work again outboard instead?

What vehicle?

I occasionally had dd's infant seat in the middle. It was moderately handy in terms of being able to quickly dock it on the base as soon as I opened the door, then focusing on the older girls, but ultimately I decided that going...

Base > frontier > RF rn

... Was easier because I opened the door and middle dd would climb in first and walk over to her rn, then oldest dd in and into her fn, and then I'd dock the infant seat. My two oldest dd's buckle themselves so I just need to visually check that things are good and listen for clicks.

Honestly though, if you have a tight squeeze (I don't, I can do multiple configs and be fine) you need to do what works. :)

Eta: right now I have rf BV > RF rn > frontier ... And it's good too.

I have a bucket in the middle of my 3 across :) I think it's so much easier than having a convertible there

it may appear that I do not have a firm grasp of the English language... blame my iPhone

car is an 07 mercury milan (ford fusion twin), not a lot of space. Other vehicle is a durango, so almost anything fits there. With the blvd70 in the center it seemed it would be a pain to try to buckle Tucker in, and he doesn't climb into his seat yet either. With Austin in the center, I could help buckle from the front since he's ffing. It seemed easy enough to get the kf in/out over the fr85 but I didn't know if it would be with a baby in it. Thanks!

I posted my 3 across in the 3 across thread but you can kinda see the pic in my avi. I have a Marathon, Aton, FFing Radian and I practiced getting the Aton in and out over the FF Radian a couple times and it was really smooth and easy. I had plenty of room to push the release lever and then I just turn it sideways and it slides right out.
