I had to try our new Orbit out with a REAL baby. A friend has a 4 month old and agreed to let me have her model it. She seemed comfortable in it and was mesmerized by the warning label on the side. Her current ride is a SS1 and she had about the same amount of room left in both seats. There were a couple things that bothered me about the seat. The first was that it has 2 splitter plates and if you don't get each harness on the correct one, they tighten differently. Also the splitter plates kept getting hung up on the bottom of the seat. I'll have to play with it a bit more to see what's going on with that. Her mom said it was fine to post pictures of her (actually she encouraged it). I'm not sure of her stats, but can find out and post later. So, here she is:
I didn't like how the harness fit around her legs. It just seemed really far down her thighs and not at her hips. Maybe I should've tried to pull her down a bit more in the seat, not totally sure.
2nd harness height. I believe she's also on the 2nd harness height in the SS1.
Head room (about the same as the SS1)
Lastly, just for the fun of it, her big sister in it (2.5yrs, 25lbs, not sure about height). She didn't want to get out and cried when I left. I guess it was comfy for her. Her head was right at the top of the seat, so it would've been outgrown about an inch or so ago.
