Car / booster seats on school coaches in France?

We are moving to France in month. DD is 4 and DS is 3. They are both registered to attend a private school which uses a third party coach company to transport kids two and from school.
Do the smaller kids ride in car seats /booster seats while in transport?

I *do* know that the coach is staffed additionally for the sole purpose of helping the little guys out.

Likely not. Most of those buses don't have seatbelts. And they're probably more than eight times safer than you driving, provided your kids sit properly.

Thanks for your response! I want to be in the country a bit before I hit the roads myself..if ever. Most people walk anyway.

My kids attend public school in France so there is no daily transport. They do have excursions from time to time and on those buses, they have seat belts. Usually though, they're bigger buses.

I usually find seat belts in smaller vans too.

Boosters aren't really used for children past age 4 or 5. I get asked while mine are "still" in them. I quickly point out the seat belt over the neck. Yes, I know there are other issues but that's the easiest to show someone.

Once a bus showed up without seat belts. I had a fit and the driver went back to the yard while we were on our visit and got a bus with seat belts. This was a mega big bus so the parents here told me that wasn't even that necessary.
