Which situation would you rather see?

Out of these two non-ideal, yet still legal situations (stemming from a debate with a friend).

1 year, 20 pound child FF in center back.

OR

Same sized child RF in front passenger seat, airbags off.

Assume both seats are properly installed and fitted, the collision would be the same, etc.

That's what I was thinking. She criticized a woman for her infant bucket in the front seat (saw it in a parking lot, so I don't know about airbag or installation), yet turned her own 7m FF. Her grandmother offered to buy a seat when they couldn't afford one after baby outgrew the bucket. Grandma bought a combination seat, and the mom felt too bad to say something or return it. Basically she felt obligated to use it, despite being pro-RF. Crazy.

Anyway, some friends and I all chipped in and got her a proper seat.

RF in front if airbags are actually off (nonexistent or manually disabled). I wouldn't trust airbag sensors and would prefer to see child FFing center back rather than RFing in front of an airbag sensor.

Back seat is about 30% safer than front seat. RFing is about 75% safer than FFing. RFing wins.

If there's an airbag in the equation, then that's absolutely not safe, so I would say back seat for sure.

definitely rearfacing in front of a disabled airbag.

I'm assuming this is a truck, since that's common to have a key able to disable the airbag and where a rearfacing seat really might not fit in the extended cab back seat.
