Wayland, MI which is 30 mins South from where I live. I am so glad it's so close. The last class I saw in MI was over an hour away and that was 6 months ago...

www.cpsboard.org is a good info. source for CPS contacts, and http://www.safekids.org/certification/certification.html explains the certification course and has a course locator. Be sure to check the box for controlled courses when you use the Safe Kids course locator because more classes will show up that way, and you'll need to contact the instructor to request permission to participate in a controlled course. Only public courses will show up in the locator otherwise. :)

Public courses are just that - anyone can register. A controlled class is basically moderated by the Lead Instructor or class administrator and your registration must be approved by them before you're accepted into the class.

http://www.safekids.org/certification/course.html

Controlled Course

A controlled course is open only to individuals approved by the lead instructor. When administering a controlled course, the course administrator has responsibilities during the student registration process. The system will allow anyone to reserve a seat for any controlled class. However, it is the course administrator's responsibility to approve or deny that reservation request. Once approved or denied, the potential student will receive e-mail notification and, if approved, will be able to complete their registration by paying the course fees.

HTH!

I can't believe there isn't a class in my area! Is there any where else I can look?

How much does it usually cost?
