When did your child outgrow it RFing?

Just wondering because I am considering getting one for the new baby after we stop using the bucket, we won't be able to buy a minivan until she's like...2, maybe 2.5.

Has anyone compared it to the classic Roundabout 40 or maybe the Cosco scenera?

He may or he may.. not. T2 was 36 inches at a year and his head was about an inch over the top of the shell. T3 on the other hand will probably make it to at least 3 in the cco :p

Thanks! I had a RA40 until just recently and DS had *just* outgrown it RFing so there is a chance he might fit  Even though it would really be for the new baby of course :)

DS2 is 18 months old, 32", 27 lbs. I'd say he has approximately 1 1/2 to 2 inches of RF growing room left.

heres a thread comparing the two....

I want a cco so bad I could scream :p

thank you for finding that thread!! I want one too. I'm just going to keep bargain hunting. Or maybe one will come up on swap. I probably don't need a new one, Sophie is already 18 months old and I will have a plethora of FF harnessed seats to pass down to her.

BUT....she has an RA40 RFing in DH's truck. She does not have a ton of room to grow (I am so bad at judging, and she's only 30" tall but she's mostly torso. stumps for legs) but it expires early next year. I do not want to FF when it expires (in a different seat obviously). However this is not a ton of front-back space in the pickup and you can't brace anything with the advanced airbags so a CCO would be perfect. I'm trying to convince myself it would buy her 6mo or more RFing time and I should get one. :p Maybe she would like one for Christmas.:p

How do people like them FF? Most of them I see on this board are used RFing. It would be installed with LATCH, most likely...the pickup has 2 positions with LATCH. I suppose she could go in the middle, but then it's a bit more of a pain to launch the RF into her seat in a tall pickup.

Madi is 2, 33 1/2 inches, and has at least 3 inches above her head, so 2 inches to grow. She might have more, I've never measured. It appears to be a tiny seat, but it's pretty deep and in our case, will probably work for RF until at least 3.

We LOVE it FF. I thought I liked it RF, but I like it even more FF. It is a breeze to install at least in our vehicles. I have installed it FF in under a minute with a 31 lb child asleep in the seat!

I got it installed more upright and DS2 is out of diapers now, so we gained almost another inch of growing room. He still falls asleep all the time and has never had head slump in it.

DS is 15 months. Last time I had him in to the Dr he was 31" and 27lbs fully clothed. He's still got room to grow in it.

DS is 2 and has at least another 1.5-2 years in it, but he's only 31" and 20lbs.

DD2 had just outgrown it at 3.5, and had already outgrown the RA40.

DD2 is 26m, 33.5" tall, 26ish pounds. I measured this morning using a tape measure on a book. She is *exactly* at 1 inch from the top and doesn't wear diapers. Until this morning, I thought she had room but took the CCO out of the car. :( It's our travel seat from this point forward.

DD1 outgrew it RF at almost exactly 24 months old.

Maddie just turned a year and has TONS of room in it. Like, years of room. It may be the only carseat she'll ever need. :p I anticipate her making it to at least 3 RF in it. No torso, tiny head. Yeah. She'll fit forever.

DD2 is 24 months, 32 inches, 20 pounds and has about 2 inches of growing room left. I am hopeful she will make it to 3 rear facing. I am keeping my fingers crossed she will at least make it to 2 1/2 for our next flight. She has been growing rather quickly lately.
