ISO: recalled maestro model and dom

Our coalition gives out maestros, but a bunch of them are recalled. I know because we checked at the last car seat check. We have another one coming up and I'd like to be able to give away these seats. (The head lady too, but they tend to forget details like calling for repair kits.) I called evenflo, said I was a cpst and wanted some repair kits. She can't give them to me without an effected model number and dom. She said just one would suffice. Anyone have this info to share?

Were the institutional model Maestros part of the recall? Not sure on that. Anyhoo, affected Maestro model numbers and range of DOMs are on the recall list at http://carseat.org/Recalls/179NP.pdf Affected DOMs are from 12/17/2009 to 4/26/2010 and one of the affected model numbers is #3101198.

Thanks! We checked the dom and model number against the recall list and it checked out. They were from 2009. Not sure if they made a different institutional model then or not.

Up until very recently the Maestro that was able to be ordered for institutional use was exactly the same as the retail version. It wasn't until early this summer that the new institutional ones began to surface that didn't have the armrests on them.

Glad you got it figured out, but remember that you will need a hammer to install the fix kit on them.
