SK Snug Seat Pilot booster vs Recaro Monza Reha

I wanted to find out if anyone has any experience w/ either of these two carseats. I think either of these could be a good choice but wanted to see about some feedback. The pilot from what I can tell is basically the SK monterey and the recaro looks like the probooster but it has a 5pt harness. A few months back I posted about troubles w/ my traveller plus and after trying many other things to help keep it from being uncomfortable I have not been successful. I have been a using a graco booster carseat w/ no harness but it expires in a month so I need to pick on and go from there. The recaro has a footrest that I can also purchase for it which I really like but not sure how it will work out for us. I now drive a 2006 expedition and my dh drives a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I am only 5'3 so I am afraid the foot rest might be in the way of me getting my dd in and out of the car but if the seat is positioned better I may not actually need the footrest. my dd is around 65 pounds and from what I can tell of her measurements she now has a between a 20 and 21 inch torso, the britax is 18 at the top slot but she doesn't meet it yet when she is sitting in it b/c she slides forward. I have used the abducter and I have tried foot stools but haven't had much luck b/c of positioning. Any info would be great b/c I find myself wanting to buy a graco turbo booster w/ the back just till I can figure out which seat to get but I don't like the graco very much so I am at a loss.

Hi there! I would first like to apologize for letting this thread slip down unanswered.

I had a chance to play with both of these seats a few months ago. The Snug Seat Pilot has a 4-point positioning harness (no crotch strap) while the Monza Reha has a 5-point positioning harness (with crotch strap). Not sure if that would factor into your decision. I also noted that it was easier (for me) to adjust the positioning harness on the Monza Reha than on the Snug Seat Pilot. Another thing I noticed is that the Monza Reha's side bolsters seemed a bit more substantial/supportive than those of the Snug Seat Pilot.

Are you working with an OT, PT or other specialist? It's possible that you can get the seat covered by insurance as durable medical equipment.

Here is a list of Special Needs Trained Technicians that is searchable by location. Perhaps you can find someone local who may have access to seats for you to try, or who could point you in the direction of someone who does. I know here we have a local hospital with several seats available for families to try before ordering.
