s/o Harness Covers

I was reading in another thread about the harness covers on the CA.

It go me to thinking and I honestly don't think I read that part of the manual of my car seats well enough. Am I correct that the harness covers for the MyRide should be only be used RF? And just out of curiosity are they required for RF or just that they are only allowed to be used RF?

What about with the Nautilus? I went back in the manual and didn't find anything other than it saying not to let them interfere with the chest clip placement? So are they required or optional? What about the belly pad?

I guess I always thought that the harness covers were just for comfort and were optional. :hitselfonhead: Should have known better and read through the manual better.

The harness covers on the Complete Air are different. They are designed totally differently and are attached to the seat.

For the My Ride, they are optional up to 40 pounds, then they may not be used.

For the Nautilus, they are always optional. But for the Nautilus Elite, they are optional until 40 pounds, then may not be used.

Thank you for clarifying. I was not aware that the CA harness covers were different, I have no experience with that seat, it just got me to thinking.

Any special reason they are always optional for the Nautilus but only up to 40 lbs for the Elite? I don't have an Elite and don't have any plans for purchasing one, I'm just curious.

I believe the Smart Seat also requires them for RF and prohibits them FF. Not sure though.

They are required for RF, always. I can't remember if they are prohibited at all times FFing, or if it's just FFing over 40 pounds. But there is a rule for it.

The ones on the Elite are much longer and thicker. Like the difference between Britax ones and the aftermarket ones that people put on. Obviously not that thick, but close.
