Argos 70 manual

what better to do on a Friday night than skim a new manual?

interpret this, please:

For lap-only belt
Buckle the vehicle belt. The vehicle belt should not be twisted.

(page 28 of the manual)

Does that mean you can't flip it and buckle it backward? or it should be free of twists except that?

eta: the link wasn't working a bit ago. :(

I think they're just clarifying that for people who wouldn't think to check; I don't think it was intended for people who are doing it on purpose to fix a belt-locking issue.

that was my conclusion, but it made me scratch my head for a second and I wanted to discuss it.

another note - Page 57: "discontinue use of body support (insert) at 35 lbs." Not that I think it would be very comfortable for kids heavier than that, but it's a change from the Nautilus.

and it still has the rule about overhang.

eta: it specifically allows borrowing over 11".

though it does say, ALL LATCH locations have a tether anchor. haven't been in many convertibles, I guess. :p

page 46- 5 headrest positions. so they didn't change that from the GN. the no rethread harness probably won't solve the issue of the next spot up looking crazy high.

I thought that I read on here that Graco did away with the overhang rule.

If I'm remembering correctly from the email on CPSP List--from Carol @ Graco, the overhang rule is only for booster mode and the turboboosters.

But that's IF I'm remembering correctly...and it is a friday night at 9:30 !

Carol clarified that the Nautilus allowed overhang in harness mode. But she told me she couldn't comment on the Argos since it wasn't out yet. Does it say no overhang in the booster or harness section?

just booster, but that's all the GN ever had and we still heard, "no, no, never" for ages.

She did mention in the webinar that it meant booster mode, but it wasn't in any of the slides, and I hadn't seen anything official. Although I'll admit, I haven't read the CPSP list in about a year.

I thought the nauti had four positions?

does it? I honestly never counted. I just knew it wasn't very many.

Still, 5 instead of 4 isn't much better. Not like the Frontier's 9.

it's 9 right? just waiting for someone to come correct me again. I seem to be having an off night. ;)

eta: aha! GN manual page 47 (and GNE manual page 48), "...until it snaps into one of 5 height positions."

so, however it is they count the GN for 5 (lowest postion, + 4 higher?), they must have the Argos 70 the same way.

I'm not that familiar with the Nautilus, but I think I read that the Argos only allows the bottom 4 of the 5 headrest positions to be used for the harnessed mode? I tried reading a Nautilus manual, and it seemed like all the headrest positions are allowed in harnessed mode. Is the Argos different from the Nautilus or am I just totally confused?

Maybe I'm misreading the Argos and/or Nautilus manuals.

I know the nautilus' headrest moves up one notch higher than needed to uncover the top slots. It has 4 slot heights, but 5 headrest positions. Right?
