My 4-year old is very tall, and has nice LONG arms! He plays with the buckle on the seat belt that holds his carseat secured into the vehicle's passenger seat. I never know when he pushes the release button because it is out of my line of vision (even with the rear view kid mirror). I have often found the carseat unsecured when we arrive at our destination.
He is currently in a high back convertible booster. I still use the 5-point harness (which he can also undo, but at least I can see that when it happens - which is rare). I have considered changing seats, but that will not change the position of our vehicle's seatbelt buckle, thus would have no effect on the problem at hand.
I have searched the internet for some kind of child-proof cover for the buckle that will stop him from being able to just push down on the buckle release (that red button is VERY interesting to this preschooler). Has anyone out there found such a device? Where?
Thanks for your help.
