3 year old fits in CCO...how is this possible!?!

So DH forgot to leave my daughters seat this morning for a playdate, I was in a huge rush when they arrived and did not want to un-install her main seat in van when I happened to notice her sister's CCO was sitting in garage...so I stuck her in it (FF) and she fits! I kept checking and double checking but she does, she is in the 75% for height so is not a short kid, but is very long legged. Now she won't fit for long, her head is very near the top and her shoulders are almost even with the top slots, but still, I never even considered this as an option if needed. Very excited!

Am I missing something? Couldn't locate our instruction manual, when is the CCO outgrown? Anything different from "normal"?

Haha, it's certainly possible! It's not really THAT tiny of a seat. My 3 1/2 year old fits FF too and has a little more room to grow (maybe just under an inch). He rides in it all the time and loves it. He used to scream and be unhappy in other seats (when he was a baby) and from the first ride in the Coccoro, he's been nothing but comfy and happy in the car. I'm going to be a little sad when he does outgrow it because it really is his happy place.

I fall a little more in love with that seat EVERYDAY! LOL!
DD loved it, but she has been very jealous because it is the only pink seat we own, so when I picked her up from playdate she insisted on riding in it! It is so lightweight and installs so quick and easy....hmm...maybe we need another!

Normal rules. The Coccoro is outgrown when the child's shoulders go over the top slots, the top of the ears goes over the top of the shell, or the child exceeds the stated limit.

DD is 3 1/2 and she rides in a CCO FF in dh's car. We're taking it to FL next month on vacation and I am so happy not to have to lug the RA50!

My 3rd son, who will turn 4 in Sept fits in his brothers CCO FF and just BARELY outgrew it RF by height..he's only 31lbs or so so he'd fit by weight

Wow! Just hearing all this makes me think this seat isn't fully appreciated sometimes! I know I sure underestimated it! But especially in small cars and in families where is can be handed down it really seems to have something to offer. I had never even heard of it until we started looking for something narrow for a 3 across, which would have never happened without the CCO!! Plus it is so stinking little and lightweight, yet deceptively deep.
Thanks for all your responses! It is still installed in my van btw where my pink princess has declared it hers...not that I mind shopping for another seat for little sis! Lol. Poor lonely, unoccupied XTSL, I've been looking for a reason to get rid of it and try something different anyway.

I watched a little girl, turned 3 in May, still fit RF in the CCO with a good amount of room left. So it's not unheard of. :) Big sis would have just outgrown it FF at 5.

(Of course I also watch a 13 month old who only has an inch or so left, lol.)

My son, who is small, fit until he was 4. DD just got a new CCO at 36m:) She's got less room than I thought, since she is taller than DS was at this age (DD is 75%ile and DS is 40%ile), but we should still get a year. It's really not that short of a seat compared to others. And luckily my kids are on the lighter side (DD-25%ile and DS *7%ile*).
