Light weight car seat for a 4 year old?

I have the radian 80 but its super heavy and not easy to travel with. I would like to find something safe but easier for air travel. TIA!

How big is your 4 year old? My first thought is the evenflo maestro.

I'd probably get an Evenflo Maestro... super light and easy for travel.

Yes, Maestro was my thought, too -- but it depends on the height/weight of the child. A total peanut could get away with the less-expensive Scenera; a heavier kiddo may outgrow the Maestro too soon to be practical and need to look at something else. The Maestro has about 18" top slots and harnesses to 50lbs, so if that sounds like it would accomodate your child, it is a very popular travel choice!

Another vote for the maestro! I asked the same thing a few months back and followed the advice to get a Maestro - it has worked out great. The truth be told, though, we are now going one step further and just bringing travel vests for both our kids. If your son is big enough to fit in the plane's seat belt, you can stick a travel vest inside your carry-on and you are good to go!

I need one too, and there are none (with shell) on the market I know of...unless your kid is small.

My child JUST turned 5 and by the time we'll travel later after Christmas, will likely be over 50 lbs. Otherwise I'd use our Maestro. Maybe he won't grow so much.

Are you buying a US seat? Or looking for something internationally?
