We hear lots of horror stories about insurance companies and car seats, but I have a good one!
DH is at work today and just called me. He said someone rang the doorbell to the fire station and there was a woman standing there with two car seats. At first he was worried because he figured he wanted installation help and his department does not have CPSTs.
But, it turns out that she was in a crash and her insurance company told her not to reuse them (they replaced them) and not to throw them away because people take them for reuse. They told her to take them to a fire station because they have a program to destroy them.
That last part isn't true, but DH told her he knows some techs and will figure out how best to get rid of them.
