RF baby alone in the third row...

Is it weird of me to feel guilty about this? I'm going to start babysitting in October (baby H is due in a few weeks ) He will be riding in a TF in my Mazda5. DH does not like for me to have either of our kids in the 3rd row bc he thinks it's so hard to buckle them in back there  So the only set up that will work is to leave my 2 in the 2nd row captains chairs and put the baby in the way back. I guess it's really not that different than having an only child in the second row. But I still feel like a big meanie thinking about him being back there all alone :( If it was completely up to me I think I would put DS in the 3rd row drivers side beside the baby so he could interact with both RFers.

On a related note has anyone installed a TF with the headrest off at an angle appropriate for a 8 week old in their 5? I'm going to have to snag one of my TFs out of grandmas car to practice.

At a check I had to install an infant seat in third row of a minivan for a couple's first baby. I'm still not sure why, but I think it would bother me. I know its not a big deal, but having such a young baby so far from me would worry me a bit.

Could you put one of your kids back there too with a captains chair folded? Or a three across with the captains chairs removed? Just suggestions in case you're really not comfortable. :)

Hmm. If you really don't want the baby by him/herself, and DH doesn't want the kids in the third row, you could either put the MR in the third row for your RFer when you have the baby with you, and leave the TF in the second row. When you have the baby, move the harness down. When baby is not with you, move it back up for your child. It's easy enough to move. Or, you could use a spare seat in the third row for one of your kids, putting the baby and one of your kids in the third row and leaving your child's usual seat vacant in the second row.

I'm glad I'm not alone in my random worrying ;)

DH really just doesnt like for our kids to be in the third row. His car is old and not car-seat friendly so he takes my car when he goes out with the kids. DS wanted to ride in the third row a few weeks ago and DH only put up with his seat being back there for a day before he asked me to move it back. I didnt think it was hard to get him in at all.

I dont think I would like DD being back there by herself either  She loves talking to DS while were driving. And DH likes to be able to fold the third row down for groceries and stuff. So he really wouldnt like it if I had 2 seats back there.

Hopefully with the extra $ I make from babysitting we can afford to upgrade DHs car soon, then I can just do what I want in mine :p;)
