Traveling with a BLVD, a few questions

We are flying this weekend and I am planning on putting my 15 month DD in an older model BLVD both for the plane ride and the car ride. I can't find the HUGS that go with the older BLVD, but I do have the HUGS from a newer model BLVD, can I use the new HUGS with the old seat? I plan on RFing in both places but I want to have the HUGS just in case there is some hiccup with the rental car.

Any tips or tricks for installing the BLVD on the plane? We have a really tight connection so anything that will save us even a few minutes is appreciated. I think I read something about a seat belt extender once?

I plan on hooking the BLVD to a luggage rack, is there any way I could just leave the luggage rack attached for the plane ride (again to save us time changing planes) as long as it fits and installs ok? Will the FA's say anything?

Thanks!

Call Britax about the mix-n-match HUGS. I don't know if they are different or not.

If you're installing RFing on the plane, then there's no special tricks. If you're installing FFing, you'll need to ask for a belt extender from the FA as you board. Otherwise, the buckle ends up in the belt path and there isn't enough room in the belt path to lift the lever to unbuckle it.

No, you can't leave the luggage cart attached on the plane. You should have time to re-attach it while you are waiting for the passengers in the rows ahead of you to deplane.

Just as a general tip, make sure you know where the sticker is that says the seat is FAA approved. I was delayed in boarding by about 15 minutes once while I looked for the sticker. (Different seat, it was on the bottom of the seat and I had my DD strapped in, so it took a while for me to turn it over.) So much for pre-boarding because I had a small child.
