Newborn in a Triumph 65-Pics!

I got my Triumph 65 back from a friend today and decided to try DS in it. He's 18 days old and I'm guessing around 11 lbs (he was 7lb 10oz at birth and 10 lbs last week when I weighed him)
He fit really well, but I'm not sure how a smaller infant would fit as the harness was as low as it could go. I would also be concerned how it would effect the umbilical stump of a brand new one because of how the buckle pushes into the abdomen. The male parts of the buckle come to a point at the top and it presses inward when you tighten the harness. This happens on DD as well and is my one complaint about the seat. It doesn't bother her, but on a newbie it might be a problem. I tried to get pics the best I could.

He's a doll! And he fits great in there. I thought the crotch strap was long on the Triumph seats. It doesn't really look that long.

The old Triumphs were really long. I have a picture of Olivia I think in the Triumph too at 5 wks, so about 9#.

Thanks all. I'm really happy with the fit of the seat! DD is getting close to outgrowing it RFing so I'm glad he'll fit right into it when she does. Then I'll just get her a Maestro for Grammie's car and have this for him.

I'll try to get a torso measurement. He was 19" long at birth and I weighed him again this morning and it looks like he's just over 10lbs now, so not as big as I thought.

I thought the same thing about the buckle. My dd was about 3 months when she first used the Triumph Advance. They had just switched to that new pointy buckle. The display in the store still had the old square one, and it worked really well. I wish they hadn't changed it. On my skinny 2 year old it also poked her in the gut.

I agree, I hate the new buckle. The old one was fine, but this one I really don't like how it pushes inward onto the baby. :(

He's adorable though!!
