Church Flea Market Find!

A little background... I found this seat at my church flea market a year ago. It has been sitting in my basement waiting for me to take pics and show you all. We are moving in a couple days and tomorrow is trash day, so the perfect day to take care of it!

This seat is older than me by 4 months! According to my mom, it was the best seat out there. It is by Strollee which I believe has been bought out by Combi.

Although this seat is really old- almost 28 years- it had a bunch of safety features we have now. Five point harness, tether, front adjust (on the harness). From what I could read from the back sticker, this seat went up to 18 pound rfing, 42 poundsa nd 42 inches ffing , although the shell was rather short and I can't imagine my 4 year old fitting in it. The harness slots appear really low, too, but I didn't think to measure them and the seat is now spread between the 4 trash cans my apartment building sets out.

I hope you enjoyed seeing the old seat. I got a great deal on it- Half off the $2 price tag- and get this- the whole pitch for the sale was that "we don't sell junk!" lol!

I rode in one of those!! I was born in December 1979. I started in some kind of bucket and then into a beautiful brown vinyl Strollee! :D

My mother said Strollees were the best on the market when we were babies, so that's what we rode in. I still remember sitting in it which meant I must have been harnessed awhile in it. That's a good thing. LOL. It was brown though.

LOL I was in elementary school when that seat was made so that makes me ancient. :p What a bargain. LOL at the "we don't sell junk" pitch.

I wasn't even born when that was made, that seat is 4 years older then me:D

{Groan} I remember 1979! First time that I really took notice of the news. I actually was old enough to do so. President Carter & the beginning of the Iran Hostage crisis that lasted for such a long time.. Very scary stuff. :(

I can't believe you threw that thing out! Why can't you use it? Just as a back up. Cause crashes never happen in a back-up scenario. I'm kidding. But I would have kept it, cause it's kind of like a collectible! I would love it if there was a Car seat musuem, that had all the old seats we rode in, or should have been in, all the way up to the new seats we have now. They should have a car seat section at Autoshows, which I do frequent, where we can see the prototypes coming out and whatnot. But, alas, I am dreaming again.

Wow! Nothing like antiquing! I was also in elementary school when that came out. I rode in one of the first car seats and it had, I guess, a wall/bar in front of my face. I also remember seeing the first Star Wars in the theater. Ugh!

I would LOVE the seat. Strollee was my favorite 'first carseat love' and I'd love to find one in good condition one day (not for actual use of course!).

I remember that very well also!
1979 was my freshman year of HS! lol

I was born in Jan of '79 and I know my mom said we rode in the best car seat at that time... I wonder if this was it?

I thought she told me that none of their seats rearfaced at that time, though? Anyone clarify?

The PP said this seat had a RF mode, maybe it wasn't available in Canada?

I saw one of these in USE at TRU a couple weeks ago. I wonder what the DOM was on their seat. I knew it was ancient by looking at it, and the pictorials says pre 90's... I had no idea it could be from the 70's though.

I was 3 yrs old when it was made.
