Carrot Cake Discontinued???

Did we know this?

I knew about Cool Mint, and a quick search reminded me that Strawberry Shake and Hazelnut were also on the chopping block...but Carrot Cake?

Really, what is the point anymore?

(In case you're confused, I should clarify that I'm talking about the Coccoro. And the Carrot Cake news came from a comment Combi made on their Facebook page. I just posted there asking for more info.)

Probably, but they're getting rid of the already-cute colors. Get rid of Chestnut and Hazelnut to make room, but not Carrot Cake and Cool Mint and Strawberry Shake.

Well... I'm betting they get rid of the ones that don't sell as well, and keep the ones that do.

While we love fun funky colors on car seats, I'm aware that many parents seem to want them to "blend" with the car for some reason.

Yeh, there's no way my DH would be happy about many of those colors in his car. When I had one it was black.

Yeah, I know people like to be matchy with their car interiors...for some reason

I just find it hard to believe that those are truly the worst sellers.

I made a poll a while back asking what colors people owned, and the "cute" colors were at the top.

I know we're weird here but we can't be THAT far off from normal people when it comes to covers.

Well its what makes the CCO so much fun - the colors! If it only ever came in black or brown i never would have bought one to begin with.

Except that b&m store buyers often won't even carry those colors for fear of them not selling. They stick with the boring ones. I think even for a niche seat a large portion of sales still have to not be online, right?

Right. Just look at BRU's carseat color scheme: black with red piping. Oh, if you need another color from BRU, you can choose from gray. And a lot of people don't have the foresight to buy a seat online: they want one RIGHT now, like yesterday.

A year or so ago I was talking with a guy who owns two large baby stores out here. I mentioned that I had a Coccoro, and he said they hadn't been selling well and wanted to know if I had any idea why. I told him it's because they only stocked the boring colors (brown, brown, pink, and red).

All those different colors and shapes back there bug me. I NEED matchy matchy with my interior. Also no brown seats of any type for me!

Combi updated that they considered discontinuing Carrot Cake, but are keeping it (though it's currently out of stock).

Strawberry Shake, Cool Mint, and Hazelnut are going away.

They also said...no new colors!
