Traveling questions and more

One of my friends is replacing on of her two seats with something new. She has a son who is 2.5+ years old and weight about # 30. She doesn't really know what to get.

She will be travelling to Europe this summer. She is willing to bring the seat on the plane, but wants one that is easy to travel with. Her son is ff.

I have never installed a ff seat in Sweden (or Europe for that matter) and my first question is: Do the cars in Europe (Sweden and Germany) have tether points for ff? Second question is which seat to get? If they have tether points in the cars, would you recommend a vest and if so, which one, for the vacation and to get something like the Nautilus for everyday use here in the US? Or should she buy a Radian that will fold up and is easy to bring on the plane?

Thoughts?

And no, rf is not an option here in the US. Maybe rf in Europe, but not here... Don't get me started.

My suggestion would probably be a Maestro. It is is reasonably light weight, very simple to use with a seatbelt install, and people have reported some good luck with being able to use it with the tray table on a plane. It is also cheaper than a Nauti or Radian.

I am not sure if all vehicles in Europe have forward-facing tether spots. The radian can be a trickier install with a seatbelt, so I hesitate to suggest that just for this trip because I don't know European cars and it is fairly expensive.

I don't know much about those vests - so I will avoid that question.

I would look at the maestro. The vest starts at 30# and can't be used on the plane. At his size he needs to use the seat on the plane.
