mesh cover irritating skin?

I think the red mesh cover on our xtsl is irritating my sons neck :(

I've washed the cover with our normal detergent, made sure it was rinsed out super good and hung out to dry. He has really sensitive skin anyway so I always rinse everything extra bc of that.

I've noticed that everytime we go somewhere that his face and neck break out...I'm super bummed about it too bc I really LOVE that red color. Why cant they make it without mesh?? ugh

Anyone else have a problem with the mesh irritating the skin like this?

It's entirely possible. DD has sensitive skin that wad EXTREME when she was little I would say it got better around 2.5). We have a mesh Radian now and she doesn't like the harness covers on - she says they hurt her neck and her skin does look red if she rides in them for a while. She almost always takes them off. If we're going on a longer trip I'll take the 'regular' radian covers off DS's seat and let het use them. The plain grey ones don't bother her as much.

DD had issues with synthetic fibers as a baby (thank God for Britax then because thru had the 100% cotton cover on the Marathon). I had to buy a plush cover for the Recent because that weird grey material bothered the back of her legs and arms.
