Oh how neat! Can I add to your question and ask if anyone has the specs on it to see how it compares to the Britax Parkway and Monarch/

What's up with all the black and red this year? Vivo, Monarch, Rodi.

OKay, any information on this other than whats on the site? I've never heard of it. Is there any reason why I might like this over the Vivo (which we also know little about) or the Monarch (other than the seashell belt guides that we know we hate)

Don't know about the red & black colors either :D At least they're not florescent.

The one point about the Rodi is unlike the other models you mentioned, it is NOT a brand new seat design without any history. It's been used in Europe for at least 3 years. So there should be test results out on it. Probably on the Austrian OEMTC testing site -- ummm someone help me out, please

I"m surprised to see it on the US market... pleasantly so. :)

Yeah, it does really well, always has :). I'm almost positive Angie has wanted one for Race for years now, so I was hoping she'd see this post and chime in...but now she'll have to wait a couple years to get one for Zane (Apologies if I'm confusing you with someone else from IVillage, Angie).

Someone's gotta buy one and stick it next to the other seats we love and see if it's taller, easier to buckle, whatever... (if dh's job interview goes well this week, it'll be me, I'll need to celebrate, right? )

Well, it won't be me unless the 79 lbs is not actually the weight limit. Both boys hit 80 lbs this year.

Looks like it is. I went to the Max-cosi website just to see. Their European one is still different that the US model, but the weight limit for their more advanced model was 36 kilos which works out to about 79-80lbs.

Good eye! 79 pounds? That's just....sorry... :p

I agree. And I was hoping it would be taller than the PW. Cam would jump at a taller booster rather than finding a way to replace the Suburban in the next 12 mos because the boys have no head support. :p

Hmmm, I would probably make the parental decision to use a highback booster over the weight limit if it adjusted taller than the Britax boosters and my kid needed the height.

If it were taller enough to make a real difference I just might too. But I have my doubts that we will actually see anything taller.By the time kids outgrow the PW by height they really do pass the 5 Step Test usually, and there isn't enough call for the head support for kids to get the taller boosters.

Yes, most kids do pass the 5 step test when outgrowing the Parkway and Monarch, but there's all those pesky vehicles with lowback seats, and kids NEED the head support as long as possible there. Sure, there might not be many savvy parents who realize the importance of head support, but for those that do, the taller boosters sure are nice!

I wish somebody would invent an add on headrest...some massive supportive strap could wrap all the way around the seatback to hold it on somehow...

Yeah, I'm sure the Rodi isn't going to be any taller than the PW :(
