I know some of you have Radians in an Explorer...I am trying to install it FF in the center seat of a 2003 and cant get it tight for the life of me!! Theres something about how the belt path is and the angle of the seatbelt buckle that is making it impossible!

My brother just bought a 2002. I can try my Radian in it one day when he's not home. He strictly said "no carseats."

The 2003 is the old body style...the Radian installs in there very easily and very upright RF :)

FF I didn't have a problem but unfortunately our center lap belt is broken and I haven't installed anything there lately.

I have an 04 and I have done it. Have you tried it with the recline bar out? That makes it sit away from the seat bight some making it a little easier.

Recline foot extended.

Then pull the rn forward just a bit.

It's a matter of moving the seat forward enough so that the buckle (male end) lines up to the stalk (female end) which is fixed and angled slightly forward.

If you don't line things up just right, the seatbelt gets caught in the latch plate, either getting crinkled or just plain stuck.

If it's easier for you to let things get crinkled/stuck and *then* pull the rn forward until things align then do that. At that point you'd be able to fix te crinkle by working some slack back into the belt (leave your belt unlocked until the very end -- like until things are aligned and the belt is worked very tight) get your knee in the seat ... Little bounce pulling belt tighter... little bounce... tighter...

It goes in rock solid, just takes a little bit of fussy work.
