Anyone know if the sr30 is interchangeable with the safeseat/sr32/sr35 base? It looks different in the stock photos but the safeseat ish base keeps popping up in searches.

You can use the SS/SR3+ base with the SR30. Not sure if you can use the other carriers in the SR30 base. (I mean, I assume they'll fit, just not sure if there are restrictions on it.)

ETA: If memory serves, the SR30 base isn't available separately, so you pretty much have no choice but to use the other bases.

Good to know. Rep when I get to a computer. I wasn't seeing them available separately and I have a ss base that expires in dec. Just trying to destash what I'm not going to use.

I had a seat check where they received a SR30 and an SR32 spare base at their baby shower. The base that came with the the SR30 was a no-lockoff base, and the spare they received was the lockoff 32/35 style. I called Graco and they said they cannot be used together, so now I'm confused! Did I get a misinformed customer service rep? The parents ended up exchanging the SR30 for a 35.

Ok after 15 minutes on hold with graco they said...

The sr30 bases are only available through graco directly. They are $49.99. However the sr30 is also compatible with the sr35 base. You just can't use the sr35 in the sr30 base.

Why would anyone pay $50 for the weird base when you can get the cool lock-off one for the same price? Is the 30 base narrower?

That's really annoying that the person I talked to told me wrong! I wish Graco would just stick with the SR 32 or 35, I don't get why they have to have four different weight limit infant seats. It's almost as annoying as Evenflo with their five different convertibles. Make a budget seat and higher weight/heigh seat and be done with it for crying out loud.

Supposedly the 30 base is narrower and it's more square. I won't buy a 30 base when I have a completely usable ss base right here.

That's what I was told. I know the SS1 and SR32 both snap into the SR30 base but was told it's not OK to use that base with the SS1 shell, but you can use the SR30 with the base from the higher weight seats.

I wanted to see if I could use my SR32 with that base since the SR30 base doesn't have the flairs and would fit better in my mom's PT Cruiser.

The 30 base is much narrower and square.

And yes, I agree. Graco, here's $5 toward your naming department. I get the Snugride name has gone far, but it's gone too far!
