Britax Star Riser Comfy vs. Britax Bodyguard

This is long, so bear with me!!

My 4 1/2 -year-old-daughter is only 35 lbs. and has been riding in a Costco Eddie Bauer booster (with the harness) for some time now. I have become completely frustrated with the belts of the harness--they have twisted so badly that no matter how many times I un-twist them, they immediately return to their rope-like state. (My daughter knows how to buckle the harness, and usually is the one doing it). We never had these problems with our Britax Freeway, which we love, but since I needed it for her little sister, we had to find a new option for her.

I looked around and spoke to lots of moms, who all have told me that ALL the boosters with harnesses twist (even the Costco Summit, which CR rated highly). So I decided that I would put her in the seat belt (yes, I know they should be in a harness until they are 40 lbs.), with a really good booster seat. (By the way, we eventually retired the Freeway for an Expressway with Ridgid Latch and absolutely love it!)

My son uses the Britax Star-riser comfy and loves it. I tried to purchase one for my daughter in December, but I was told that Britax had put a hold on their manufacture. The only comparable one I found was the Graco Turbo Booster. We have used it for one month, and are finding it diffucult to fasten the seat belt. I prefer to seat my three children straight across in the back seat (I have a Toyota Sequoia), so I can get to them easily. Since it has a non-adjustable wide base, it's just making it tough.

My daughter is not heavy enough to use the Britax Bodyguard at 35 lbs., any ideas on what might work??

Your thoughts are greatly appreciated!

Cosco seats actually tend to have the TWISTIEST straps. Your daughter should fit well in a Britax Marathon, and those straps don't twist at all.

The Graco Ultra/Platinum CarGo straps are significantly better than a Cosco seat, but not as nice as Britax.

I would not use a booster at this point.
