I have heard (perhaps incorrectly) that some people who cannot afford car seats can get them from some gov't organization if they apply--any truth in this?
I have been volunteering at a local "soup kitchen" type establishment, and I have seen MAJOR car seat issues, or lack of car seats all together in this place--alarming. People have their kids in seats that have cracked shells, 15 yrs after expiry, some have infants in the car and just hold them...it is shocking...
